// Last updated: April 19, 2026
1. Introduction
Eigen GmbH ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered running shoe recommendation service ("Service"). This policy complies with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and applicable data protection laws.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Personal Information
We collect information you provide directly, including:
- • Account information (name, email address)
- • Running profile data (foot measurements, running mechanics, preferences)
- • Photos and videos for biomechanical analysis
- • Communication with our support team
2.2 Technical Information
We automatically collect technical data including device information, usage patterns, and analytics data to improve our Service.
2.3 Use of TrueDepth Camera and Depth Data
Our iOS app may request access to the device's TrueDepth camera solely to capture depth data of the user's foot for foot scanning, biomechanical analysis, and shoe recommendations.
The app does not collect, analyze, or process facial data. TrueDepth access is used only for foot scanning functionality and is not used for face recognition, authentication, advertising, tracking, or any unrelated purpose.
Raw TrueDepth depth data is processed locally on the user's device in real time. We do not store, transmit, sell, share, or retain raw TrueDepth depth data, images, scans, face maps, or any biometric templates generated through the TrueDepth API.
No biometric identifiers are created, stored, or retained from TrueDepth data. Users control camera access through iOS permission settings and may revoke camera access at any time.
2.4 Derived Measurements
The app may generate non-biometric measurements or recommendations from a scan, such as foot dimensions, fit indicators, or shoe-matching attributes. These derived results may be saved to your running profile only to provide the Service and improve your recommendations. They do not include raw TrueDepth data or facial data.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- • Provide personalized running shoe recommendations
- • Analyze your running biomechanics and foot structure
- • Improve our recommendation models using profile data, photos, videos, and derived measurements where permitted by law and user consent
- • Communicate with you about our Service
- • Ensure security and prevent fraud
- • Comply with legal obligations
Raw TrueDepth depth data, face maps, and biometric templates are not used to train machine learning models.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on our servers and third-party cloud services. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
We retain personal data only for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Raw TrueDepth depth data is not retained because it is processed locally and discarded in real time.
5. Your Rights
Under Swiss data protection law, you have the right to:
- • Access your personal data
- • Correct inaccurate data
- • Request deletion of your data at any time
- • Object to processing of your data
- • Data portability
- • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
You can also withdraw camera permission at any time through your device settings. If you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal data associated with your account unless retention is required by law.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our Service, always under strict confidentiality agreements and data protection obligations. These providers may process data only for our instructed purposes and must protect it to a standard consistent with this Privacy Policy.
We do not share raw TrueDepth depth data, facial data, face maps, or biometric templates with third parties.
